Request for Judicial Nominee Endorsements
Colorado State Appellate Court Vacancies
At this time, the APABA Judicial Nominations Committee will consider endorsements for candidates who have been nominated by a Colorado Judicial Nominating Commission for a vacancy on a Colorado state appellate court (the Colorado Court of Appeals or the Colorado Supreme Court). Nominees seeking APABA’s endorsement should email a request for endorsement to apabanominations@gmail.com, including the following:
- A cover letter or personal statement explaining why they seek APABA’s endorsement and why their candidacy supports APABA’s organizational goals
- Their public judicial application.
- Their availability to participate in a 30-minute interview to discuss their candidacy with a panel of the APABA Judicial Nominations Committee.
Because the judicial nominations and appointment processes move rapidly, we kindly request that candidates send their request for APABA’s endorsement within 48 hours of receiving their nomination from a Colorado Judicial Nominating Commission.
After an endorsement request is received, a member of the APABA Judicial Nominations Committee will respond to the candidate as soon as possible to schedule an interview.
Other Vacancies
The APABA Judicial Nominations Committee is not endorsing judicial candidates for vacancies outside Colorado state appellate courts at this time. Please check back later for updates.
